Sambalpur: District Collector Inspects Low-Lying Areas in Sambalpur Due To Urban Flood Concerns

Sambalpur: With the arrival of the monsoon, the district administration has begun planning to tackle urban flooding in Sambalpur. Today, District Collector Akshay Sunil Agrawal and Sambalpur Municipal Corporation (SMC) Deputy Commissioner Shankar Sahu visited several low-lying areas of the city. They examined the conditions in Ainthapali, Jagannath Colony, Pradhanpada, and other low-lying areas. They have instructed that all drains be cleaned immediately before the heavy rains. Every year, many regions in Sambalpur experience urban flooding during the monsoon season, resulting in artificial floods.

Every year, waterlogging causes artificial floods in areas such as Budi Area, Mudipada Low-Lying Area, Bhangamunda, Talipada, Uparapada, Housing Board Colony, Chandannagar, Talbhatapada, Gurudwara Pada, Durgapali, Kusumpada, Kanijuri, and Talipada. The District Collector examined the circumstances in order to find solutions to these issues. Many drains have yet to be cleaned, which is causing significant problems. As a result, it has been directed to clean them in a warlike manner.
