Gopabandhu Arogya Yojana to Replace BSKY After September 10
Starting September 10, Odisha will replace the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) with the Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana. Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling told the media that the new scheme will offer the same health benefits as BSKY.
Minister Mahaling stated that the process of issuing new cards will begin once the appropriation bill passes. He assured that all current BSKY benefits would continue under the new scheme. The existing BSKY cards will be phased out and replaced with Gopabandhu Jan Arogya cards.

After September 10, the new Gopabandhu Arogya Yojana will gradually replace the existing BSKY program. During this transition period, the BSKY program will continue to operate normally until the change is fully implemented.
Currently, BSKY provides healthcare assistance worth 96.5 lakh rupees. Female family members receive up to ten lakh rupees in medical assistance each year. Beneficiaries with an annual income of more than one lakh rupees are eligible for free healthcare services totaling approximately 200 crore rupees. Many beneficiaries have expressed satisfaction with the services offered by BSKY.
