Sambalpur: The government should shoulder the responsibility of transporting the body of the donor: senior journalist Ashwini Darji

Sambalpur: Increasing social awareness among the people is showing a lot of interest in donating the whole body. In the past, conscious people have been interested in eye donations so that others can see the world in their eyes after death. For the past few years, many conscious people, intellectuals, have been interested in donating their entire bodies. Various voluntary organizations are organizing special events and encouraging people to do the same. The body is usually donated to a government medical college, such as Vimsar. After death, the human body is used in medical student studies.

So one of the most important aspects of this body donation has come to the fore. The family of the person who donates such a body has the right to bring the dead body to Vimsaar at his own expense. Ashwini Darji, a senior journalist from Bargarh, expressed regret. Mr. Darcy, who has won the battle against cancer, has inspired everyone to donate his body. Mr Darcy said the body of the donor’s body should be taken into consideration and that the body should be transported to a government-funded college. Because on the day he went to register, he was told that the family would be responsible for passing on the death certificate to the medical college concerned, and secondly, that the family would also bear the responsibility and cost of delivering the deceased body. In the case of a poor family, it would be a burden to bear. Mr Darcy said the government should shoulder the responsibility of transporting the dead at least.

In this regard, Vimsar Director Lalit Meher when asked, he said that such donated bodies usually reach out to us through voluntary organizations. These organizations take on this responsibility on their own. So if someone is donating directly to the body and is having trouble delivering the body for financial reasons, then we can arrange it. This is not a big deal at all. He said he would take action if any such case was brought to his attention.
