Sambalpur: Integrated Health Survey Campaign, Dry Day to Be Observed Every Friday
Sambalpur: The National Urban Health Mission and the Department of Family Welfare organized a meeting in Sambalpur to raise awareness for World Population Week and to launch surveillance campaigns for malaria, dengue, diarrhea, tuberculosis, and leprosy. Commissioner Bedabhushan chaired the meeting, which took place at the Sambalpur Municipal Corporation Auditorium.
Decision to Observe Dry Day Every Friday
During the meeting, it was decided to observe “Dry Day” on Fridays. On this day, all educational institutions, primary health centers, and ward levels in the Sambalpur Municipal Corporation will observe it.

ASHA workers will visit each household to spread the word, emphasizing handwashing, and cleanliness, and raising awareness about malaria, dengue, diarrhea, and population control. They will also provide information about the upcoming mass drug administration for the elimination of filaria from August 10 to 19.
Flagging Off of Awareness Vehicle
During the event, the Commissioner flagged off an awareness vehicle from the Sambalpur Municipal Corporation grounds to raise awareness about malaria, dengue, diarrhea, and World Population Week. Niku Ranjan Pratihari, the City Program Manager, led the program. The event was attended by Dr. Sujata Mishra (CDMO), Dr. Pradeep Kumar Hota (Additional District Urban Public Health Officer), Dr. Mahendra Nanda (City Health Officer), Suchitra Sahu (Additional District Public Health Officer), and Jhunu Swain (District Social Welfare Officer), among others.
