Sambalpur: Jamadarpali Road Barricades Stolen, Culprits Yet to Be Caught, Authorities Remain Silent
Sambalpur: Miscreants have stolen iron barricades that were placed along the road to prevent major accidents. Some are broken, while others are waiting to be stolen. This alarming situation is evident on the Sambalpur-Jamadarpali road, where more than half of the barricades have been stolen.
Barricades Installed for Safety Now Missing
The road leading to Jamadarpali, which passes through a large hill, had barricades installed on both sides for safety. After the contractor completed the work, the responsibility was handed over to the concerned department. However, within just a year, most of the barricades have disappeared, while some have been dismantled and left behind. It is now only a matter of time before the rest are stolen.

Authorities Unaware of the Issue
Surprisingly, the Public Works Department (PWD) has taken no action, nor have any officials acknowledged the problem. Despite the fact that the department is responsible for the maintenance of these barricades, no one has taken action to address the issue. Because Jamadarpali has an airstrip, VIPs frequently use this route to travel to Sambalpur or Bargarh. As a result, barricades were installed in the hilly areas to ensure safety. However, the theft of these barricades has rendered the area vulnerable.
Local Residents Demand Action
Local residents are now urging authorities to file a police report in order to recover the stolen items and apprehend the thieves. The lack of proper security has put the community at risk, and immediate action is required. Despite repeated complaints, PWD officials have yet to respond or take concrete steps to address the issue.
