Sambalpur: Minor Becomes Victim of Robbery After Offering Lift, Police Arrest 6
Sambalpur: A minor fell victim to a robbery after offering a lift to a stranger on his bike. The incident occurred in the Hirakud area. Police reports state that the minor was riding alone on the Dyke Road on Thursday night when a man asked for a lift. The minor trusted the stranger and agreed to help. The man asked the minor to stop when they reached a spot where the stranger’s accomplices were waiting.
The accomplices surrounded the minor when he came to a stop. He was brutally assaulted and had his phone and ₹650 stolen. Following the incident, the minor filed a report with the Hirakud police station. The police quickly filed a case and began an investigation.

Within 24 hours of the incident, the police successfully arrested the robbers. The individuals arrested in connection with the case are Pramod Bishwal, Ratnakar Bishwal, and Sudhir Pandey from Tankipada in Hirakud, Bikash Behera from Lane 25, Dukhisyam Gardia from Gurudwara Pada, and Sanjeev Mukhi from IDC Chowk. On Friday, they were presented in court.
Police arrested the accused with a revolver, an air gun pistol, three mobile phones, and a knife. The arrested individuals have previous criminal records, according to the police.
