Sambalpur: Risky Unloading at Khetrajpur Railway Station; Railway Staff Working Directly on Tracks

Workers Stand on Tracks to Unload Parcels

Sambalpur: An alarming incident was recently observed at Khetrajpur Railway Station in Sambalpur. Railway employees were unloading materials from a train while standing dangerously on the railway track. The act raised serious safety concerns and drew public criticism after a person named Kaulash Agrawal shared it on social media.

Risky Parcel Transfer Between Platforms

As per reports, the incident happened on Platform No. 2. During the unloading of parcels, Railway Station Staff (RSS) workers were seen throwing parcels directly across to Platform No. 1. For heavier items, they even placed them on the railway track in between the platforms. One worker was seen walking along the track, dragging items back to the platform all while a train could have arrived at any moment.

Fortunately, no train passed on that track at the time, avoiding what could have been a serious accident.

Call for Safer Unloading Procedures

People are now demanding that such risky practices be completely stopped in the future. Moreover, since trains carry valuable parcels, documents, and letters, unloading must be done with proper safety protocols. Authorities need to ensure that all staff follow safe procedures while handling cargo.

No Response from Railway Department Yet

Despite public outcry, the railway department has not yet responded to the incident. Concerned citizens are urging the department to take this issue seriously and implement strict safety measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
