Sambalpur: 2019 Election Promises, When will the Super Specialty Hospital in Rengali?
Rengali: During the 2019 general elections, the former health minister Late Nabakishore Das promised in the election campaign meeting that there will be a super health hospital in Rengali. Five years have passed since then and another general election is approaching. But even the minimum process of implementation of the 2019 election promises has not started. After the unfortunate demise of Shri Naba Das, it is not observed that the state government, especially the current health minister, is not paying attention to fulfilling his promises. There is talk in the conscious citizens’ quarters that the promise of the late Health Minister will not be like a lollipop.
It is worth noting that the Mine was built in a certain area of the Rengali Block of Sambalpur District in the process of industrialization. As a result, the problem of pollution has reached an acute level along with extensive deforestation. It has a terrible impact on the living world and people are suffering from various diseases. Local residents have been demanding for a long time for a high-level hospital and ESI hospital and trauma center in Rengali to deal with the increasing health problems.
Apart from this, there have been several demands and agitations for the status of the Primary Health Center in Rengali as a community health center. Still no results. It is worth mentioning that the Hospital in Rengali has been running on the hope of one/two doctors. In such a situation, it can be guessed how the health problems of this region, rich in mines and crafts, will be solved. After industrialization, the population increased rapidly and the erstwhile village of Rengali has turned into a small town. Residents complain that the government is not paying as much attention to industrialization as it is to public health. Addressing the most pressing problems of the region, Late Das promised to open a super-specialty hospital here. So necessary steps should be taken by the government to fulfill its promises.
The people of Rengali have requested the government to pay attention to the construction of ESI hospitals and trauma centers for laborers, and mining workers. It is worth noting that the proposal for setting up a trauma center in Rengali has been on file for 10 years, even though the proposal was tabled in the RPDC meeting. It is eating dirt.
