Sambalpur: Ainthapali Elevated Corridor Soil Testing Begins, Rs 374 Cr Allocated for 6-Lane Flyover Project to Reduce Accidents
Sambalpur: Soil testing for the Ainthapali Elevated Corridor has recently begun, ending long-standing speculation about it. People will be relieved from the increasing number of accidents, especially in Ainthapali Chowk and Virsa Munda Chowk. This intersection has been identified as accident-prone in Sambalpur district for the past few years. Frequent accidents are causing loss of life and wealth. Many people, including students, have also died due to accidents at this intersection. In such a case, public opinion has expressed that traffic on the aforementioned route would be smooth and safe thanks to the 6-lane elevated corridor that will be built at the station at a cost of Rs 374 crore.
However, the funds for the much-anticipated Ainthapali Elevated Corridor were sanctioned within the last few months. Additionally, a 2-lane road overbridge will also be constructed on NH-53’s Sarlakani railway overbridge. Rs. 374 crore was sanctioned for these two projects. Meanwhile, the soil test for the Ainthapali Elevated Corridor has started. In EPC mode, a 3.5 km long 6-lane elevated corridor will be constructed at Ainthapali. It will start from near Sarlakani and will go up to Panchgacchia Vikas School. In which the lanes coming from Bargarh and Devgarh will pass through this elevated corridor in the opposite direction. As a result, there will not be any traffic problems in Ainthapali Tali Chowk and Upar Chowk. It was informed that there will be a service road at the bottom.
National Highway-53 (formerly National Highway-6), which used to pass through Sambalpur city, has a 2-lane railway overbridge at Sarlakani. So another 2-lane railway overbridge will be constructed there. As a result, traffic on the road can be facilitated. The proposed 6-lane elevated corridor will ease the traffic congestion at Ainthapali Chowk and facilitate the movement of people on NH-53’s Sarlakani Over Bridge. People can come and go safely. There have been proposals for the construction of the elevated corridor for many years, and it has been widely accepted as it is about to be implemented.
