According to police, Suraj Kumar Patel of Sundargarh was waiting for the bus at Ainthapali bus stand on Monday night. At that moment, four miscreants on two bikes came and showed him the knife and looted his mobile phone. Suraj had lodged a written complaint with the Ainthapali police station on Tuesday. Similarly, around 12 am on Monday night, Surath Sahu of Hatpada and his cousin Debranjan Nayak were riding their bikes (OD 15P 4859) to Majhipali. Debranjan was attacked by four miscreants near Pardhiapali junction. Two gold chains, Rs 700 and a bike were stolen from them. Surath had lodged a written complaint with the Aithapali police station on Tuesday.
After two allegations, the police filed two separate cases and launched an investigation. with urgent action after checking all the CCTV footage in the area, the police succeeded in arresting the robbery gang. Four members of the gang were arrested by police, one of whom was a minor. The three arrested were Abinash Munda, 21, of Ainthapali Canalpada, Ramjani Munda, 30, of Badpada and Madhusudan Munda, 33, of Deheripali. All the accused were arraigned in court on Tuesday.
Police seized a stolen bike, two other unlicensed bikes, 4 mobile phones, two gold chains, Rs 600 in cash and two knives from them.
