Sambalpur: Ainthapali Tali Street has become the street of death, student died after being crushed under a Hyva Truck
Sambalpur: Sambalpur’s Ainthapali Tali Chowk has become a death street. Accidents are a common occurrence here. Many lives have been lost at this intersection where accidents happen frequently. Another high school student lost her life yesterday. There has been a lot of public dissatisfaction over the government’s silence on the demand for the construction of a flyover here for many years.
According to the information received, at 9:15 on Wednesday morning, Pragya Parmita, a resident of Bhalupali, was coming to Budharaja High School on a bicycle. Pragya, who was studying in Class IX, was crushed under the wheels of a Hyva Truck (OD 02BI-1660) coming from the same direction at Ainthapali Tali Chowk (Bir Birsa Munda Chowk). Pragya’s bicycle got stuck under one of the wheels of the highway while it was turning to go towards Devgarh from Jharsuguda. As a result, Praghani died at the scene of the accident. Hyva driver Mansoor Ansari left the vehicle at the scene of the accident and surrendered to the police station. In this case, the police has arrested Mansoor Ansari, a resident of Jayanagar, Jharkhand.
After the incident came to light, the parents reached there and demanded the construction of the flyover immediately. On the other hand, the police in Ainthapali sent a police force to rescue the dead body. After the autopsy, the body was handed over to the family members. A memorial service was held at Budharaja High School under the chairmanship of Principal Sumita Patri. After the funeral, Additional District Education Officer Muralidhar Behera, Budharaja High School Principal Sumita Patri, Senior Teacher Hari Narayan Panda, School Management Committee President Prabhudutta Sahu paid their respects and proceeded to main Burla Mortuary Center and from there to Pragya’s house.
