Burla: There is another complaint of ragging a student in Burla VSSUT. Today, a second year student made such a complaint. The victim has alleged that 12 students of the final year brutally beat him up. After filing a complaint in the Burla police station, the police started an investigation. VSSUT authorities said that action will be taken against the accused if the allegations are proven to be true. According to the information, the student was sleeping in his hostel room (Pulah Dormitory) late last night, while some fourth year or final year students entered the hostel room and raged and beat him up. The victim is a student of the Electronics and Telecommunication department. It is to be noted that in December last year, the action was taken against nine students accused of ragging in Burla SUIIT College. A month ago, there was a scuffle between two groups of students. To a second year student his 8 of classmates abused him during the night. After that, the concerned student informed about the incident to his elder brother, who is studying in his final year. After that, the elder brother along with some of his friends was accused of abusing the 8 students inside the dormitory in the middle of the night. At this time, information about the incident was received from some lecturers who were monitoring the dormitory at night. They immediately informed the instructor. After that, the director of the SUIIT, Professor B.K. Mohanty, immediately formed a disciplinary committee and ordered an investigation into the incident.
