Sambalpur: Complex surgery is successful in Vimsar
Burla: Doctors from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Burla Vimsar, are back in the limelight after doing a complex surgery. According to sources, Urmila Mirdha, 46, wife of Neelmani Mirdha of Nuamunda area of Sambalpur district administration, was admitted to the gynecology department of Vimsar on May 21 due to cervical cancer. The surgery was performed on laparoscopic radical hysterectomy because of cervical cancer.
Benudhar Pandey, a departmental doctor, said the operation was the first of its kind in Vimsar. He also mentioned that the operation was being performed at Acharya Harihar Cancer Hospital in Odisha. According to hospital sources, Urmila was discharged on the 7th after the operation was successful.
The surgery was performed by Dr. Benudhar Pandey and Dr. Santosh Dora, while the anesthesia team was assisted by Dr. Girija Patra, Dr. Siddhant Chowdhury, Dr. Panchanan and government medical Tapas Upadhyay and Sumit Kalo of Nasing Staff Radical State.
