Sambalpur: In the suicide case of software engineer Shweta Utkal Kumari, her Sambalpur boyfriend Soumyajit Mohapatra is the talk of the state. Regarding this incident, the police have registered a case and started an investigation into the incident in Bhubaneswar’s Chandrashekharpur police station on the basis of a complaint given by the family of the deceased Shweta.

In such a situation, there is a lot of discussion in the neighborhood about where Soumyajit, a resident of Bareipali Bansidharnagar under Ainthapali police station in Sambalpur city, has gone since Monday night. On Sunday at 10:07 PM, two young men left his house on a bullet motorcycle and after 10 minutes one of them returned and entered the house and the gate was closed.

A video of it is circular in the city. The young man who sat back and did not return home is Soumyajit and the neighbors say where he left with his elder brother, but nothing is clear from the video. On the contrary, blaming her boyfriend Soumyajit for the death of Shweta, her father and brothers filed a complaint in Bhubaneswar Chandrashekharpur police station, but the Bhubaneswar police have not yet come to Sambalpur.

Soumyajit is the youngest of the two sons of CISF officers Tapan Mahapatra and Jyotsnarani Mahapatra, who are natives of Kuchinda region and make their home in the city of Fulidhar, Sambalpur. After passing engineering from Burla Vssut, he joined Infosys in Bhubaneswar in 2018. While working there, he met and had a relationship with Shweta. During the lockdown, Soumyajit had moved from Bhubaneswar to Sambalpur, and later the two had a quarrel that led to suicide. Soumyajit’s elder brother works in a state-owned bank and is also unmarried. His family is accused of not having good relations with his neighbours.
