Sambalpur: Cyber Fraud Strikes Again, Victim Loses Over Rs 42,000 Without Knowledge

Sambalpur: The cybercrime threats keep hitting Sambalpur, with yet another innocent victim falling victim to the tactics of tech-savvy scammers. This time, the victim was a Burla resident who was robbed of a significant amount of money without even recognizing what had happened.

The victim, Kabi Mahananda, a resident near the Burla water tank, was shocked when he found that Rs 42,545 had been taken from his bank account over the previous week. The illicit transactions took place in multiple installments, lowering his funds without his knowledge or consent.

It was only after Mahananda visited the bank and thoroughly reviewed his account statement that the shocking truth came to light. He immediately filed a formal complaint with the Burla police station, describing the illicit withdrawals from his account. The local authorities acted quickly, opening a case and conducting an investigation into the cybercrime occurrence.
