Triple Tragedy Strikes Sambalpur: Three Separate Accidents Leave Dozens Injured and Lives Lost

First Accident: Auto-Car Crash Leaves One Dead, 4 Seriously Injured

On Thursday around 1 am, a tragic accident occurred near Shankar Math on the Sambalpur-Dhama road. An auto (OD 15X 5709) carrying 5 people, including the driver, was traveling from Sambalpur to Dhama when it collided head-on with a car (OD 23 2500) coming from the opposite direction. The impact was devastating, and 55-year-old Kamalu Bhabsagar from Dhama Thentulikurla village lost his life. 4 others sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Sambalpur District Headquarters Hospital, where they are currently in critical condition, including 2 women. The driver of the car fled the scene, and the police registered a case, seized both vehicles, and initiated an investigation.

Second Accident: Two School Buses Collision Injures 7 Students

On Wednesday, two school buses collided near Ainthapali Pardhiapali, resulting in injuries to 7 students. Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene and coordinated the rescue efforts with the help of locals. The injured students were taken to Sambalpur District Headquarters Hospital for medical treatment. The police have registered a case and attributed the accident to the reckless driving of one of the bus drivers (OR 15N 3799). That particular school bus has been seized as part of the investigation.

Third Accident: Biker Killed in Truck Collision

In a tragic incident near Majhipali, a biker lost his life after colliding with a truck. The victim Manoranjan Pradhan (25) from Budharaja was returning from Rengali to Sambalpur around 5 pm via Majipali Road. Unfortunately, he ended up hitting a broken-down truck (RJ 48GA 1395) from behind. The Sason police station was notified, and they rushed the victim to Sambalpur District Headquarters Hospital, but the doctors declared him dead on arrival. The police have registered a case, initiated an investigation, and seized both the bike and the truck involved in the collision.
