Sambalpur: Fire broke out at Sai Medical Store in Modipara, Medicines worth more than 25 lakhs were destroyed
Sambalpur: A fire broke out at Sai Medical Store in Modipada on Sunday. The owner of the shop said that more than 25 lakhs of medicines were burnt in the fire. A fire broke out in the shop at 4:00 pm on Sunday. On receiving information, the fire brigade reached the spot and extinguished the fire.
According to the preliminary investigation, the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit, Assistant Fire Officer of Sambalpur, Jitendra Biswal, said that while the shop was closed, smoke was coming out of it. At 4:30 pm, the patrolling Irv saw the smoke coming out and informed the fire brigade. Immediately, the fire brigade started extinguishing the fire. Almost all the medicines in the shop were burnt in the fire. The computer inside the shop was short-circuited. As there was a surgical spirit nearby, it caught fire. The shopkeeper was also unaware of the incident. A large crowd of people gathered near the shop after seeing the fire. However, to avoid such incidents, the assistant fire officer requested to cut the electricity connection and close the shop.
