Sambalpur: Flow meter installed in Sambalpur, as much water as you take, you will pay the bill
Sambalpur: Installation of flow meters has started in Sambalpur. Today, the first flow meter has been installed in the RDC office. This Pro’meter is connected to the water pipe connection given to the RDC office. Currently, there are 73 thousand water pipe connections in the Sambalpur metropolitan area, and flow meters will be installed in all these places within the next one year. That means, it is decided to install this flow meter in all the houses, public and private offices and institutions that have water connection from the public health department. While this meter was installed through the Odisha Water Corporation (WATCO), Ashoka Infracore Company in Sambalpur got its fix. Gulshan Kumar, assistant engineer of the public health department, said that flow meters have been installed in Puri for the first time in Odisha.
After Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, now it has started in Sambalpur. He said that instead of the monthly tax system after installing the flow meter, whoever uses the water will have to pay a certain amount of tax for every thousand liters of water used. The construction company Ashoka Infracore is carrying out this responsibility Samarjit Patnaik said, this meter has been installed in about 40 water pipe connections on the first day. He said that although there was an agreement to do the installation of these meters in the entire metropolitan area including Sambalpur, Burla and Hirakud within a year, we aim to complete it within 8 months. On the contrary, it is said that by installing a flow meter, there will be a curb on water misuse. It is said that people will be aware of water usage as they have to pay as much as the bill is raised in the meter.
