Sambalpur: Gun Shots fired in Sambalpur, Loot attempt failed, businessman injured
Sambalpur: On Tuesday night, gunshots firing broke out in Sambalpur’s Khetrajpur Police Station Poddar Colony. The incident of a miscreant who tried to murder by firing shots after a loot attempt failed has sparked widespread protests in the city. The miscreant attacked the businessman who was returning home after closing his shop. Assuming he had money in the bag, he made the effort to rob. After failure, a gunshot was fired, and fled.
According to information, Mukesh Jain, a pulse trader of Poddar Colony, was returning home on a scooter after closing his shop near Khetrajpur flyover on Tuesday. He also held a bag. A rogue chased him. When Mukesh was parking his scooter in front of his house, the miscreant tried to take away the bag. Between the two, Mukesh fell down and screamed for help. Fearing that some people would come, the miscreant shot at Mukesh. Fortunately, the bullet hit the ground without hitting his body. When Mukesh got scared, the thief ran away, leaving behind one of his slippers. On the other hand, one bullet was seized, said Additional SP Haresh Pandey. Dog Squad and the scientific team have been informed. Mr. Pandey said that they will also investigate.
Street Jam Due to Police Vehicle
Sambalpur police immediately reached the spot after receiving the news of the firing and started a search. Sadar SDPO Pradeep Sahu along with Additional SP Shri Pandey and other police officers reached the spot and conducted a search. Poddar Colony Street was completely jammed with officers and police in the ERV vehicle. There is a police presence in front of Mukesh’s house and on the street. On the other hand, police teams have searched to various places to arrest the accused.

There was an altercation with the robber in front of Mukesh’s house. A bullet was fired at a distance and the police were trying to identify the accused, hoping to find out more from the CCTV cameras. CCTV cameras were also installed in front of Mukesh’s house, but the police are frustrated as the cameras are not working.
