Sambalpur : Incident of violence during Hanuman Jayanti procession, delegation of National Tribal Commission (NST) met the family of deceased Chintamani Mirdha

Sambalpur: A delegation of the National Tribal Commission has reportedly met the family of Chintamani Mirdha, who was murdered on the occasion of the Hanuman Jayanthi procession in Sambalpur. Jayant K. Sarode director of NST’s Bhubaneswar regional office along with commission member Anant Naik along with other officials have visited Sambalpur district.

After that, they will go to Bhawanipali and meet the injured Vishwanath Kalia Shika (21 years old) at Sambalpur Circuit House and discuss with the tribal leaders and meet the media at 2:30 pm. Earlier, administrative haste was seen yesterday. At 3 pm yesterday, some youths reached Vishwanath’s house. After some time, Additional District Collector Ajambar Mohanty, Sub collector Prabhas Donsana, Jujumura Tehsildar Abhishek Sahu reached there. A check of 15 thousand rupees was given to Vishwanath on behalf of the Red Cross. As per government guidelines, 8 lakhs to the family of deceased youth Chintamani Mirdha and aid of Rs 6 lakh has been sanctioned to the injured Vishwanath, Sub-collector Shri Donsana gave the information. Now he asked to check that one and a half lakh rupees has been deposited in his bank account. As per their suggestion, when Vishwanath was riding the tehsildar’s lane to sit, the BJP workers led by BJP leader Sasmita Dehuri reached there and protested. Vishwanath stopped telling Sasmita not to get into the lane. They questioned how the administration suddenly showed urgency today after so long. A heated argument broke out between the BJP workers and the group that had earlier come to Vashnath’s house.
