Sambalpur: Incident on burla power channel , fisherman went for fishing and went missing
Burla: Again an incident took place at burla Power Channel. A fisherman has gone missing after going fishing. The missing fisherman has been identified as Surath Seth (46) of the Golgunda area, Burla. After a written complaint to the Burla police station on behalf of the family of Surath, the fire brigade and the Burla police team reached the spot today and searched, but no trace was found. The family has identified Surath’s slippers in hopes of finding the slippers lying on the spot.
According to information, Surath regularly goes to the ghat of the power channel near MCL for fishing. He used to support his family by selling fish. After noon yesterday, he went to the ghat and went fishing in his boat. Leaving his slippers on the shore, he walked about 50 meters in the mud and went into the water with his boat. But after some time the boat floated down and some other fishermen rescued the boat and brought it to the shore. Surath was not in the boat. As Surath did not return home till evening, the family started searching. However, no trace of him was found. Finally, Surath’s wife lodged a written complaint about the incident at the Burla police station. Even after searching in various places starting from the ghat where the police went fishing, no trace of him has been found. The fire brigade also searched the spot. No trace were found either. Surath’s family is in despair.
