Sambalpur: The Department of Excise has again seized a huge quantity of marijuana from the Biju Expressway. The marijuana was being smuggled from Koraput to Uttar Pradesh. After getting information about this, the Sambalpur anti-criminal team raided and arrested 2 accused and seized a car. Sambalpur Department of Excise team patrolled the Sambalpur-Jharsuguda Biju Expressway on Sunday under the supervision of Department of Excise Deputy Commissioner Rajendra Bothra on the orders of Department of Excise Commissioner Ashish Kumar Singh after receiving information about the smuggling of Marijauna. A patrolling team led by Inspector Shashikant Dutt seized a large amount of marijuana from a four-wheeler (UP 63G0179) while checking the lane near Gham. A total of 102 kg of marijuana was seized by the Excise Department, the estimated value of which is Rs 10 lakh, said the Excise Department. The Excise Department has arrested the 2 accused Manoj Rajbar (25) and Satsathi Thak (47) who were in the car.
