Sambalpur: A protest will be held in front of the Assembly on the call of the All Odisha Anganwadi Workers Union United Front on the 9th dec. If the allowance is not increased during the upcoming budget session, then the idea will be brought before the assembly day and night during the budget session. In the name of tracking of anganwadi centers, personal movement of anganwadi workers and helpers has been restricted. Day-to-day operations are being interfered with in the name of location tracking. Fees for pre-school and pregnant women’s meals were increased in 2017 and are yet to be implemented. They demanded Rs 26,000 allowance, Rs 10,000 pension, quota for ANMs and primary teachers as per the recommendations of the central government. Western Odisha Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Union President Meeravati Dalbehera, General Editor Prabhasini Padhi, Mamata Satpathy, Pramila Singh, Lily Mishra, Nithambani Dash, Anita Naik, Tulsi Bhoi, Ritarani Pati, Lily Mishra were present in the press conference.
