Sambalpur: Paddy worth lakhs of rupees, including tractors, were burnt in Dhankauda

Sambalpur: A fire broke out at a threshing floor in Dhankauda and destroyed a tractor and lakhs of rupees worth of paddy. According to reports, a sudden fire broke out at around 6.30pm on Monday. Two vehicles from the Sambalpur fire brigade reached the spot and extinguished the fire. By then, more than half of a tractor had been burnt and millions of rupees worth of rice had been burnt.

According to preliminary investigations, the fire was reported to have been carried out in a threshing floor as powder fallout from the rice harvesting machine in the silencers. The tractor was parked near paddy and also caught fire.
