Sambalpur: Patarpendi of Loknath and Jageshwar Baba are complete
Sambalpur: The Patarpendi of Loknath Baba of Jhaduapada and Jageshwar Baba of Mudipada was held on Thursday. Mata Parvati’s marriage to Devdev Mahadev has been decided through Patrapendi. There is a Hanuman Niuta or Guagunda program for the marriage of Loknath Baba and Jageshwar Baba on Friday.
At around 9pm on Thursday, Amarnath Supkar, the father-in-law, went out in search of a bride for Loknath Baba along with the people of Jhaduapada. The chariot-carrying father-in-law was holding the leaves and flowers of Shiva in the sargipatra, while the companions were accompanied by the Saptaushi and the villagers. The procession left Loknath Baba’s temple in Jhaduapada and reached Khetrajpur in Poddar colony. There was talk between the two sides. The bridegroom’s parents, Sunil Agrawal and Kavita Agrawal, were asked by his well-to-do daughter. The bridesmaids asked about her son’s quality of life. Both parties later agreed to the marriage. In the presence of her father-in-law Saptaushi, the bride guaranteed her marriage to her parents by giving Loknath’s bail, flowers and sargipati. Mahendra Pujari performed the puja. Madhav Panda, Purandar Panigrahi, Pitabas Bishi, Harihar Badpanta, Jagadish Badpanda, Prakash Pujari, Sanjeev Padhi were the participants. Hundreds of villagers, including Kailash Panda, Manoj Mishra, Dhirendra Panta, travel committee chairman Saroj Dalaupat, Soujay Mishra, Sushant Purohit, Abhishek Mishra, Milu Panigrahi, among others, were present.
Similarly, after the worship at the Jageshwar Baba temple in Mudipada, a procession took place at the bride’s house. Father-in-law Madhusudan Negi accompanied Saptaushi and the villagers and reached the bride’s house in the Budharja Executive Colony. There, the bride’s parents, Binod Bihari Patel, Binta Nayak and the family welcomed Barapaksha. Jageshwar Baba and Mata Parvati’s marriage was arranged by the father-in-law. Shashi Bhushan Tripathi, Arvind Mohapatra, Shantanu Panigrahi, Sanjeev Das, Bishwa Ranjan Pujari, Vijay Sadangi and Rajkishore Mishra played the roles of Saptushi. Pandit Krishnachandra Panigrahi, temple priest Govind Panta officiated. Yatra Committee Chairman Jagadish Panda, Durga Patnaik, Sunil Das, Gatikrishna Sadangi, Khadiratna Behera, Narsingh Das, Abhiram Patel, Jitu Karna, Ashutosh Mishra, Laxmi Narayan Patel, Sunil Sahani, Ujjbal Bagarti, Alekh Sahu, Baneshali The procession was completed in the presence of Das, Ashok Patel, Gangadhar Vhoi, Satyakant Mohapatra, Himanshu Panigrahi, Sudhir Bahidar and hundreds of villagers.
