Sambalpur: Police in Action Mode for Sitalsasthi; Vehicles Towed as Crackdown on Illegal Parking

  • Fines Imposed on 14 Vehicles for Illegal Parking
  • Tow Van Started Removing Vehicles from Saturday

Sambalpur: As the Sitalsasthi festival approaches, there is a significant gathering of people in Sambalpur city. With many friends and relatives visiting, the city is witnessing increased congestion. The ongoing parking chaos has become a major headache for the police administration. Despite repeated requests, the Sambalpur police have now taken strict action. Many people in the city own four-wheelers but lack sufficient parking space. Consequently, they park their vehicles on the roads in front of their houses. This results in unnecessary congestion in Sambalpur throughout the year. During the Sasthi festival, the city’s population doubles, exacerbating the problem.

To address this issue, from June 6 to June 12, the town’s police station officer, Bulu Swain, has requested that vehicles be removed with the help of tow vans. The influx of people and vehicles during the Sasthi festival will increase the administration’s parking concerns. To resolve this issue, the police began strict action on Saturday. On Saturday, fines of 500 rupees each were imposed on 14 vehicles illegally parked in narrow and main roads.

Furthermore, all vehicles parked on the road have been instructed to be removed as soon as possible. The Sambalpur Metropolitan Police, assisted by the towing vehicle, began patrolling the city on Sunday. According to the police department, if a vehicle is found illegally parked on the road, it will be towed away.
