Residents have expressed concern about the recent increase in brown sugar trade. Notably, the majority of brown sugar is being seized in the Sunapali area. Members of several mosque committees have already filed complaints with the Sambalpur SP, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.

On Wednesday, Dhanupali Police seized brown sugar from the Sunapali area. According to reports, the Sambalpur District Excise Department seized 25 grams of brown sugar from Sunapali. Mohammed Sehnawaz, Kalo, and Prakash Oram were arrested as part of this operation.
The Excise Department is conducting an ongoing investigation to identify any additional parties involved. Reliable sources indicate that the department is conducting extensive investigations to identify all parties involved in this illegal trade.
Seized brown sugar has an estimated value of 2.5 lakh rupees. Along with the brown sugar, authorities seized a scooter and two mobile phones from the suspects.
