Sambalpur: Protest in the office of the contractor for salary arrears, dissatisfied people lock the office

In Bargarh, about 170 employees working as meter readers were cheated by a contractor without paying a month’s salary. According to the information received, the contractor left Bargarh after his term expired last September without pay. The contractor is currently working in Sambalpur. Despite repeated requests to do so, the contracting agency made excuses. Dissatisfied with the non-payment of the money, the workers reached the office at Ainthapali in Sambalpur and shouted. They then locked the office door and protested. Later, the two sides reportedly held talks at the Ainthapali police station.
