Sambalpur: Ram Navami Grand Celebration at ISKCON Burla; Attracts Thousands of Devotees

Sambalpur: In ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) Burla, the Ram Navami Maha Mahotsav was organized. Ram Katha (discourse on Lord Rama’s life) was held for 9 days at the Burla Bharati Club Grounds.

Inside the temple premises, Bhagavat Katha was conducted by Shripad Padaseva Das for 9 days, and Ram Katha was conducted by Param Puja Bhakti Jivan Swami Maharaj for 4 days. A devotional drama called ‘Ratha Atakila Bada Dand Re’ was performed in the temple premises with Asta Prahari Nama Yangya.

On the occasion of Ram Navami, around 10,000 devotees from Burla, Sambalpur, and Hirakud area gathered, along with many dignitaries of Sambalpur. At 10:30 am, Lord Ramachandra was anointed in a ceremonial ritual.

A spiritual atmosphere was created in the temple premises through Naam Sankirtan (devotional singing). Union Minister Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan attended the puja and encouraged the devotees.

Around 10,000 devotees were distributed food prasad by the temple. The police administration took elaborate measures to control the crowd and maintain traffic order.

This Ram Navami celebration was conducted by the head of the temple Shripad Amai Das, Shri Asit Krushna Das of ISKCON Youth Forum, Shri Sushant Das, and many senior devotees of the temple. The temple thanked everyone for celebrating the festival.
