Sambalpur: RBI Official Alerted GM University’s Students about Cyber Fraud
Samalpur: Reserve Bank has taken various steps to warn about cyber fraud. Dr. Sushant Kumar Kar has advised to be alert and aware of the various tricks of fraudsters in books like ‘Raju and Forty Thieves’ and ‘Be Aware’ published by Reserve Bank of India on cyber fraud. Dr. Sushant Kumar Kar, alumnus of Gangadhar Meher University and Chief General Manager of Reserve Bank and Lokpal of Maharashtra and Goa, attended a special program at Gangadhar Meher University School of Economics on Monday.
In this Vice-Chancellor Prof. N. Nagaraju inaugurated the program while School of Economics Head Dr. Umacharan Pati presided over the function. Secretary General Dr Jugaleshwari Dash, officer Kanak lata was also present. Dr Kar explained the working process of Reserve Bank of India in detail. Basically, he highlighted the Bank Exchange, Bank Supervision and Integrated Lokpal Scheme implemented by the Reserve Bank. If your bank does not hear any complaint or is not satisfied with the reply, after a month of making the disapprovement, the Reserve Bank informed that the complaint can be made directly to the Lokpal. Mr. Muralidhar Majhi, MBA Department, proposed the vote of thanks.
From 1978 to 1982, Dr. Kar completed his undergraduate studies at Gangadhar Meher College, while he completed his undergraduate and M.Phil degrees at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He later earned a doctorate in bank risk management from the University of Madras. He has been working in the field of bank exchange and bank supervision since last 30 years. In the meantime, he has also worked in an advisory capacity at the Bank of Oman for about 5 years.
