Sambalpur: Review of the Samlei project by RDC (ND) & Collector was done to ensure time-bound construction and a better pilgrim experience
Sambalpur: The much-awaited Samlei Project work was targeted to be completed by December but as the month draws to a close, a lot of work is still left. On the other hand, efforts are being made to complete the work as soon as possible. Among these, Northern Revenue Commissioner (RDC) Dr. Suresh Chandra Dalai and Sambalpur District Collector Ananya Das reviewed the Samlei project on Friday. Reviewed the various Key project components of Temple facilities, pilgrim facilities, Watchtower, Pond Development Complex, etc. While most of the work is nearly completed, the manpower has also been increased. It is said that efforts are being made to complete the final phase of the work as soon as possible.
It is worth noting that in the budget of the financial year 2021-22, Rs. 200 crore was sanctioned for this project. A budget of more than 2000 crore rupees was made in the next time for this project which is under 5T state governments. It also includes the historic entrance to the Chariparshwa, the Bhog Mandap, the restroom of the worshipers, the Mahanadi Arati site, and the Mahanadi frontage. The preservation of the historic Gopalji Math is also involved. Walkways from the temple to Mahandi Ghat, various facilities, a food park, a historical garden, a leisure theater, a vending zone, etc. are being arranged for the convenience of tourists.
