Sambalpur: The eyes of the entire country are now on the Sambalpur seat, where a heavyweight political battle has intensified. The question arises: Who will win the Sambalpur seat? Will the BJP retain it like in 2019, or will the BJD regain its stronghold? In 2019, the BJD lost the MP seat by only 9,162 votes. However, out of the 7 assembly seats under the Sambalpur parliamentary constituency, the BJD won 4, while the BJP secured 3.
Analyzing the vote numbers from 2019, in Deogarh, the BJP received 74,355 votes, and the BJD got 67,249 votes. From Rengali, the BJP secured 79,663 votes, and the BJD obtained 62,034 votes. In the Sambalpur Assembly seat, the BJP got 57,349 votes, and the BJD received 52,969 votes.

This time, the BJP has fielded heavyweight and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for the Sambalpur Lok Sabha seat, while the BJD has nominated its Organizational Editor, Pranab Prakash Das.
While the BJP has repeated its candidates in the assembly sectors, the BJD has changed its candidates in all seats except Chendipada. BJP MLAs previously won in Deogarh, Rengali, and Sambalpur.
Sambalpur has become the most discussed constituency in the current general elections, with all eyes on this district. The BJD’s Organizational Editor, Pranab Prakash Das, has entered the fray to challenge Dharmendra Pradhan, who is banking on the “Modi guarantee.”
The presence of Pranab Prakash Das in Sambalpur and senior leader Prasanna Acharya in Redhakhol has sparked discussions about how the duo, known as the philanthropists of state politics, will impact the opposition’s prospects.
