Sambalpur: Sambalpur Railway Divisions’ record in Cargo Handling

Sambalpur: East Coast Railways’ Sambalpur Division has set a new record in cargo handling in the month of December. In the month of December 2022, this zone has loaded 1.41 metric tons of cargo, which is 17.5% more than the same month of the previous year. A press release from the Railways said that this is a record in the cargo load for the month of December so far. By the end of December 2022-23 financial year i.e. 3 quarters, this mandal has loaded 11.92 metric tons of goods and sent them to various places which is 33% more than the same period of the previous year. In the last financial year till December 2021, 8.95 metric tonnes of goods were handled in this zone. Besides, Sambalpur Mandal exchanged a total of 5486 freight lanes in the month of December. A daily average of 177 lanes were changed, which is 9% higher than last year and a record for December, railway sources said.
