Sambalpur: Sarpanch candidate’s house shoot incident, two accused taken to court
Rengali – At around 1.30 pm on Tuesday, Lalit Kumar Sahu (Kunu), Sarpanch candidate of Gichamura village panchayat ‘s Beura village house was shot. The two accused involved in the incident have been arraigned by Thelkoloi police today. The two accused arrested were Chaitanya Kisan and Sudarshan Kisan. Police found an assault rifle, a machete from Lalit Sahu ‘s house. Two indigenous firearms, chemicals used to for ammunition and two mobile phones were also seized from the accused.
According to Bidhubhushan Mishra, a police officer who has registered a case no 48 under Sections 457, 427, 307, 34 IPC and 25/27 AM Act, Thelkoloi police have registered a case in this regard. Lalit’s house was shot due to political retaliation by Opposition groups, according to police. shoot the house of any sarpanch candidate is said to be a major event in the ongoing election. Two days before, in the Kanthamal area electoral violence has also erupted. Luckily no one was killed in the two incidents.
