Sambalpur: Tata Power’s arbitrary conduct, Badabazar area Public protest and surround power offices and police station
Khetrajpur power station in Badabazar area was cordoned off by residents of Badabazar area in protest of Tata Power’s reluctant activities in the West Odisha power distribution company. However, the police intervened and promised that this would not happen. Locals cordoned off the khetrajpur power station and police station on Friday to protest against the company’s actions. Even after the siege, locals rushed to the Khetrajpur police station to protest the lack of electricity. After a lengthy meeting with police chief Mamata Naik, the tripartite talks were scheduled for April 2. Despite this, locals warned that if the power company did not resolve the issue, there would be widespread protests.
During the protest, Bhagwan Pandey, Chhedilala Agrawal, Manoj Palsania, Jayaram Bernia, Rajinikanth Meher, Mohammad Kalia Khan, Prahallad Bansal, Munna Tiwari, Shiva Meher, Manoj Sharma, Shyamlal Sahu, Ghanshyam Meher, Raja Beriwal Ranjan Hota, Krishna Sahu, Guna Kusta and other locals were present.
