Sambalpur: The fourth edition of ‘Sambalpur Fashionova’ was held on Sunday at a hotel in Budharaja. The 4th edition was dedicated to ‘National Handicrafts Day’ held under the auspices of Bargarh Sambalpuri Textiles and in collaboration with MCL. President of Sambalpuri Textiles, Samvit Acharya attended as the chief guest.
In the first phase, there was a costume show involving Sambalika Kids models. In the 2nd phase, Sambalpuri Clothing was presented and in the 3rd phase, U-Trend presented it. Then the costumes made by the students of NIIFT Bhubaneswar were displayed. 12 women, 2 men, and 30 little models of the national level walked on the ramp walk wearing this dress. This year, for the first time, 10 housewives walk on the ramp and presented modeled designer sarees on the ramp.
After three successful years of organizing the NextGen Fashion Tour & Lifestyle with the aim of promoting Sambalpuri handicrafts and textiles, and promoting local weavers and dress designers, the Sunday edition saw more excitement. Sambalpuri Garment Managing Director Shishir Nag, Commercial Head Hemant Mishra, Ex-Chairman Vijay Mohanty, NextGen Fashion Tour & Lifestyle Founder Hitendra Shahi, Co-Founder Ratan Sao, Coordinator Subodh Chand, Volunteer Milan Hota attended as chief guests of honor. The program was coordinated by Shubhojit Panda and Archana Behera.
