Sambalpur: The ideal marriage of the orphan of Dhankauda Kanyashram was held on February 14
Sambalpur: Kasturi Munda (21), an orphan girl who has lived in Dhankauda Kanyashram since the age of 3, got married. Kasturi stayed in the ashram, studied and did ITI.
On Tuesday, her marriage with Shiva Bivar (22) of Bandpali near Chiplima was held at the Durgapali Gudeshwar temple in a joint effort of the District Child Protection Department and the District Child Welfare Committee.
A few days ago Shiva came to the ashram with his parents and saw Kasturi. After both of them liked each other, the marriage was consummated in full Vedic rites. Shambhu Barelia and Sarita Barelia of Khetrajpur do the kanyadan of Kasturi as parents. Child Protection Committee Chairman Prasanta Padhi, Member Shiv Nand, District Child Protection Officer Suchismita Pattnaik, Shishir Bohidar, Sanjay Sarangi were prominently present in the program.
