Sambalpur: The half-burnt body of Shashi Pagad (51) of Hirakud Store Chowk was found on Saturday morning near Hirakuda’s left dyke in the Balbaspur area under the Sason police station. The body of the woman was found naked and her face was burned. Meanwhile, it has been 36 hours since the body was recovered. But now it is not known who killed the woman. While the woman’s motive for death is unknown, it is also unclear whether she was killed near the dyke or where she was killed and taken there for cremation.
On the other hand, a special police team has started investigating the incident. According to the CCTV footage, Shashi was last seen in Hirakud Market on Friday evening. It is not known who took her from Hirakud and when. Police are interrogating people in the area around the Hirakud and Balbaspur dyke.
Based on the information obtained, the protestors kept Shashi’s body in front of the Hirakud police station following post-mortem. People’s protests came to an end after the police promised to arrest the accused within 3 days.
