Sambalpur: Two poachers have been arrested in the Redhakhol forest including a head of a deer
A special team of the forest department raided the Mochibahal reserve forest in Badmal forest on the orders of Redakhol ACF Devi Prasad Raut and arrested two poachers. The head of the deer, some raw meat and some cooked meat were seized from them. In addition, axes, knife and cooking pots were seized. The two arrested were Ramchandra Naik, 28, Basu Dharua, 55, of Amadar village in Mochibahal panchayat.
Badmal Ranger Pradeep Sethi, Badmal Forester Srivastava Kisan, Charmal Forester Praveen Sahu, Forest Guard Prashant Sahu, Kailash Mishra and others were present on the raid. In the Redhakhol forest, animals are being hunted.
Now, with the onset of summer, the water resources have dried up and wildfires have entered the village area. Some animals are died of thirst and fire. Taking advantage of this, the hunters are guarding the village area. There have been allegations of wildlife poaching.
