Sambalpur: Vimsar’s Medical Negligence has come to light, unknown old man lying without treatment for 8 hours
BURLA: Again the picture of medical negligence has come to light in Burla medical center. An unknown old man was transferred to Burla Medical in critical condition from Bargarh District Hospital in Ambulance 108. However, 108 Ambulance left the old man in casualty. As there was no family members of the old man, his treatment was not done immediately. For more than 8 hours, the old man was casually placed under bed No.10. When an unknown patient came to the medical center, he should be given medical care in time, How far such neglect is reasonable has been questioned.
Transferred from Bargarh District Hospital in 108 Ambulance
According to the information received, an unknown old man (75) was transferred to Burla Vimsar in a 108 ambulance in a serious condition from Bargarh District General Hospital at around 12:00 pm. 108 Ambulance left the old man at Burla Medical Center. Some social workers put the old man in a V-3 bed. But treatment for the old man could not be started. Then, after two hours, the old man was lying alone in the bed, when suddenly the old man fell down from the bed. Some of the attendants present there rescued the old man and placed him under bed no. 10.
A social worker complained that even though the old man was lying down for about 8 hours, his treatment could not be started. After drawing the attention of Medical Center Superintendent Dr. Lalmohan Nayak and casualty officer Dr, Brajsundar Sahu, the treatment of the old man started at 8:30 pm. However, the old man is suffering from kidney disease. The incident of leaving critical patients without treatment for hours has been condemned in various quarters.
