Sambalpur: Young woman commits suicide by jumping over power channel, Body recovered after 3 days
Burla: The body of Rinki Suna (21) of Burla Gandhipada, who committed suicide by jumping into a power channel just a few meters away from Burla police station at around 9 pm last Sunday, was recovered by the Burla fire brigade from Chipilima today after three days.
According to the information received from the police sources, local people informed the police after seeing the dead body of a woman floating in the Chipilima Power Channel. On receiving the information, the police along with the fire brigade reached the spot and recovered the body. The family identified the body as that of Rinki Suna. In this regard, the Burla police filed a case of death and sent the body for autopsy.
Police sources have informed that the body was handed over to the family members after the autopsy. After a preliminary investigation, the police suspect that a family dispute may have led to the suicide. A few days ago Rinki and her husband Ritesh had a fight due to some reason. The quarrel escalated to such an extent that Rinki left her in-laws’ house and lived with her parents. On Sunday, Rinki went to Burla Hospital along with her brother-in-law Daitari Nayak. While returning home, she accidentally jumped into the power channel. However, the investigation is continuing, and the real reason for the suicide will be known soon, Chipilima police station investigation officer Tapan Pradhan informed.
