Sambalpur: Senior journalist Shiv Prasad Tripathi Passed away
Sambalpur: Senior journalist and columnist Shiv Prasad Tripathi passed away at around 4 pm yesterday. He was 70 years old. Born on March 12, 1952, Shiva Tripathi has been a journalist for various newspapers and edited a magazine called “Bartaman”. He authored several books, was the chairman of the Samaleswari Temple Board of Trustees, and is currently a member of the Odisha Sahitya Akademi. He leave behind his son Suraj, daughter Suman, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, grandson, granddaughter, brother and their family. Earlier in 2008, his wife had passed away.
The books written by Shiva Prasad Tripathi are the Asha ra dipa, Biplabi Bhagat Singh,
Biplabi Chandrashekhar, Navaratna, Kaljayi Mahatab, Newspaper Development and Journalism, Maa Samaleswari (English), Karunamayi Maa Samaleswari, Eradication and Re-introduction of Oriya Language in Sambalpur, Meher Sahitya Sampad, Mangalu Charan etc.
Himanshu Shekhar Mishra, president of the Sambalpur district branch of the Odisha Journalists ‘Association (OJU), and Saroj Sahu, general secretary of the Sambalpur district branch of the Odisha Journalists’ Association (OJU), mourned the death of journalist Shiv Prasad Tripathi.
