Survey tenders for modernization of 6 stations, including Sambalpur Junction

Sambalpur: The East Coast Railway has announced tenders for the modernization or integrated renewal of two ‘A1’ category railway stations in Bhubaneswar and Puri in the state. The tender price for the renovation of Bhubaneswar Station is Rs 275.90 crore, while for Puri Station, the tender price is Rs 139.77 crore. Similarly, the modernization work of one of the most important Cuttack stations in the ‘A’ category in the state has already begun. In addition, tenders have been announced for the survey for the modernization work of four other ‘A’ category stations in Odisha under the East Coast Zone. These stations are Khordha Road, Berhampur, Bhadrak, Jajpur – Kendujhar Road, Rayagada, Sambalpur Jansan. The tender price has been fixed at Rs 2,71,20,600.

Other major railway stations in western Odisha, such as Titilagarh, Khariar Road in Balangir, Kesinga, Sambalpur City and other major railway stations in central Odisha, such as Anugul in central Odisha, have not been included in the nationwide modernization work. The people of western Odisha, who have high hopes for the development of the railways, are disappointed. It is demanded that the Minister himself take special steps for the development of all the important stations in Western Odisha. The survey also plans to modernize the stations for integrated development.
