Vimsar infection exceeds 40, offline test cancelled
Vimsar authorities are worried about the large number of MBBS students in Burla Vimsar being infected with the virus. On Monday, 22 students were diagnosed with coronary heart disease, while the number rose to 40 on Tuesday. As of noon on Tuesday, a total of 31 students had been infected, Vimsar authorities said. The second, third and fourth year students of MBBS are on the list.
At the meeting, the chairman, including the director, Jayashree Dora, Superintendent Lal Mohan Nayak, Chief and Senior Medical Officer of various departments were present.The number of students infected is expected to rise. Authorities opposed the protest with all available police forces, special services and the army, ” Jayashree Dora informed. A total of five hostels in Vimsar have been affected by the Virus, authorities said. All hostels have been declared as Containment Zone .The student’s antigen testing process is ongoing. The number of infections is expected to rise further.
