Viral Video: A 120-Foot-Long Chariot Collapsed at the Madduramma Fair in Bengaluru (Video)

A massive 120-foot tall chariot, specially constructed for the annual Madduramma fair in Hoskote’s Huskur village, came crashing down during the festivities, causing panic among devotees. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.

Every year Madduramma Festival is celebrated in Anekal taluk of Bengaluru, where people from 10 surrounding villages participate in a parade through the streets in huge chariots. This year’s arrangements included 4 decorated chariots that were to be pulled by tractors and bullock carts.

The procession began successfully, but issues developed as the road changed from paved to a rocky dirt track. Due to the wheel dislocation, the chariot collapsed and fell to the ground. The weight of the collapsing structure caused a portion of the chariot to be buried in the soil.

The sudden collapse of the chariot created an atmosphere of panic as devotees scrambled to reach safety. Videos from the scene captured the moment the massive structure came down, avoiding any damage.

An investigation into the cause of the collapse is underway, with authorities checking whether proper safety protocols were followed during the construction and lifting of the carriage.

The organizers have assured that all necessary measures will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
