World Famous Dhanuyatra will start from 15th January 2024 in Bargarh District
Bargarh: The world-famous Bargarh Dhanuyatra Festival will start from next January 15th. For this purpose, the first preparatory meeting was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Dhanuyatra Mohotsav Samiti District Commissioner Monisha Banerjee. Several complaints were raised in the meeting. At the beginning of the meeting, the chairman of the festival committee, Sureswar Satpathi, presented the last year’s budget. However, the Goppur committee brought a fatal charge. The money paid to artists, decorations, and others was said to be through fake bills, which caused a lot of tension. Finally, if the allegations were true, the District Magistrate ordered to initiate the case immediately.
In the same way, it was alleged in the meeting that casteism-like racism arose, While some people hesitated to wash Akur’s feet, even though it was alleged that such a dishonorable event was suppressed, the act of burying the Jeera river and holding the Meena Bazaar and various fairs there was strongly condemned. During the Jira river archery, “the Yamuna is palatial. Naturally, it is related to the lifestyle of the Bargarh people, then Birendra Pradhan raised the question that who gave permission to bury it and hold the fair, but it was said that the river was not buried. It was strongly argued that if the river was not buried, then some money would be paid for the equipment used for it. On the other hand, there is a strong demand to dissolve all the committees that have been functioning for a long time and form new committees. The meeting was attended by senior administrative officers, staff members of Mathura and Gopppur committees, and members of various sub-committees.
