Sambalpur: A tragic incident took place in Sambalpur when a student drowned while bathing with his friends. The victim, Priyanshu Prakash Behera, was a first-year Civil Engineering student. He had gone to the ‘18 hazar’ canal of the Hirakud Dam Power Channel with some of his classmates to bathe. Unfortunately, due to carelessness, he lost balance and drowned in the water.

Rescue Attempt
His friends immediately tried to rescue him and quickly took him to Vimsar, the largest hospital in the area. However, despite their efforts, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
