Sambalpur: Police are busy with the Samlei Project, Robbers rising in the city, and Serial theft on Hospital Road
Sambalpur: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the Samlei Project on Saturday After the inauguration, various cultural programs were held till Saturday night. Police were busy during the opening ceremony of the Samlei Project. Some crooks took advantage of it. The miscreants stole the bikes of several people who had come to witness the inauguration ceremony and cultural program of the Samlei Project. Not only that, the thieves also attacked various shops in the city, breaking the locks of many shops and stealing them. Even though there have been multiple robberies, no complaint has been filed in the police station.
Samar Mishra’s son took his scooty (OD 1550 5526) to watch the program. He kept the scooty in the parking area near Ringroad. By the time he returned from watching the program, scooty was nowhere to be found. He has filed a complaint at the town police station. There are reports that several more vehicles have been stolen. However, no complaint has been filed in the police station. On the other hand, on Saturday night, multiple shops were stolen from the Sambalpur District Hospital area. Apart from this, the miscreants broke the locks of many shops and failed to steal. Many shopkeepers have complained in writing to the town police station. According to the information obtained, 6 shops were stolen.
2 thousand rupees were stolen from the coffee stall while 1500 rupees were stolen from the coconut shop. Various items and money were stolen from a nearby pan shop. On the other hand, Mohanty’s Chicken Shop, Mahalakshmi Chudi Center, and a Hotel lock were broken. Even though the outer lock was broken, the miscreants could not open the inner lock. However, the police detained and interrogated a thief who stole from the shop.
